Connecticut Student Loan Foundation (CSLF) Awards Scholarship to Deserving Connecticut Student

The Connecticut Student Loan Foundation (CSLF) awarded the Vincent J. Maiocco (VJM) Scholarship to Jillian Proffitt, a Quinnipiac University student, on Friday, June 18, 2004 at the 10th Annual Vincent J. Maiocco Scholarship Fund Golf Outing.
Ms. Proffitt, a resident of Southington, CT, recently completed her sophomore year at Quinnipiac University, which is located in Hamden, CT. She is on the Dean’s list and maintains an impressive 3.22 GPA. Ms. Proffitt is majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Spanish.
Ms. Proffitt was presented with the scholarship at the annual golf outing, which was held at the Tradition Golf Club in Wallingford, CT. The proceeds of the golf outing fund the VJM Scholarship, which was established in honor of Vincent J. Maiocco, the first employee and former President of CSLF, who retired in 1992.
The VJM Scholarship Fund was created to award scholarships to students financing their postsecondary education with loans guaranteed by CSLF. Over the past 10 years, the golf outings have raised over 0,000 and have provided 14 scholarships to deserving students residing in the state of Connecticut.
