Affiliated Auctions, North Florida & South Georgia Premier auction house will hold a three day event now in 2 to 4 December 2011, which will feature fine original oil painting famous Hudson River School artist Jasper F. Cropsey .

(American 1823-1900) taught himself how to sketch and draw. He was trained as an architect and studied watercolor at the National Academy of Design in Edward Maury and did his first exhibited there in 1844th He is married and traveled abroad before returning to America. He was a member of the first-generation Hudson River School and co-founder of the American Society of watercolor painter.

His work can be found in many museums, including the National Gallery of Art, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art and Museum in Boston, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Denver as well as in the White House. Cropsey and his wife are buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

work is Greenwood Lake and measures 21 by 35 inches. In its original frame measures 31-45 inches overall. The work was created in the 1890s shortly before Cropsey died.
